The second major work I made in Frankfurt is Secret Life of Poetry, which is a mixed media collage based around 13 poems about time I had written between 2018 and 2024.
Each vertical scroll contains several drafts of a single poem, with each draft containing edits and cross-outs, additional texts done in ink, graphite, watercolour, punctuated by detritus that I collected during my stay in Frankfurt including food and medicine packaging, ticket stubs, receipts, etc.
With this work, I wanted to capture as accurately as possible the process of thinking and revising the idea of the work as it evolved over time. As a consequence, it became almost like a wall filled with the rantings of a mystic madman.
Secret Life of Poetry was originally shown in my third solo show “Time is a Donut” at basis e.V Frankfurt in December 2024. It was later shown in my fourth solo show “All Life is Recycled + Time is a Donut” in Temu House KL in June 2025.
