In 2020, I was invited by curator Jason Wee of Grey Projects Singapore to participate in a two-person show with Singaporean artist Yong Zhangda entitled Strange Bodies.
For the show, which was themed around hybridised forms of the human body, I contributed a series of watercolour paintings depicting imaginary marine creatures, taking inspiration from their hybridised names.
The paintings were meant to be a lighthearted take on how the names of certain animals may conjure a surreal interpretation.
The works were also a personal nod to the artists associated with the Surrealist movement whose works have inspired my practice.
