P O R N O S H O P

Pornoshop was a series of works I made in 2005 using pornographic stills I downloaded and digitally manipulated using MS Paint and Photoshop.

I was interested in the malleability of the digital image, especially when it is manipulated into looking nothing like its original.

The mirroring of motifs within the images came from my interest in repetition at the time. I was making a lot of MIDI-based music which had a lot of repetitive beats and I wanted to recreate that sensation in visual form.

Some of these images were shown as digital prints in The Selling, a group exhibition at REKA Art Space, Kuala Lumpur, in 2005.
