"The Mystic Self (in two parts), or If the time ever comes when all of life’s questions get answered, will I get compensated for all the fuckery I’ve had to endure?" | Graphite on tracing paper and mixed media | 26cm x 18cm
Fuckery was a series of mixed media collages I made in 2023 exploring my continuing interests in human figuration and using recycled materials.
By layering drawings on tracing paper over intricately collaged backgrounds made using scrap materials I have saved over the years, I wanted to create new amalgams of ideas I had explored in some of my previous works, which were inspired by my reading of Josef Albers’ book “Interaction of Colors”.
